Pair Found With Defaced Gun After Galloway Vehicle Break-In: Police

Two men from South Jersey were arrested after they broke into someone's car and had a defaced gun, authorities said.

Galloway Township police said they received a call from a potential theft victim at around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The man said he had checked his surveillance footage and saw someone broke into his vehicle at around 1:30 a.m.

Officers began checking the area and noticed a Nissan Altima parked on Smithville Boulevard. Two men were inside the car and police found the men had a defaced gun.

Police arrested 33-year-old Ahmed Ismail of Moorestown and 19-year-old Torin Colson of Millville. They were held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

Ismail and Colson were charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, certain persons not to have a weapon, possession of hollow point ammunition, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and possession of a defaced firearm.

Galloway police said they want to remind people to lock their vehicle doors and report suspicious activity to the department at 609-652-3705.
